Download and request a 7-day trial license by e-mail

VoxBridge Studio is delivered as a portable ZIP package: download it, unzip it, and request a 7-day trial license by e-mail. For the alpha phase, trial keys are sent manually. No credit card is required. You activate the received key inside VoxBridge Studio. The trial includes 120 subtitle minutes, up to 15 videos, with a maximum of 60 minutes per video.

Product state note: the currently published portable ZIP metadata is alpha-0.2.6. The package remains an unsigned alpha portable ZIP with Simple Local and Cloud BYOK subtitle choices.

Download portable ZIP Request trial license Setup guide Setup help License pricing
First-time quick start
  1. Download the portable ZIP.
  2. Request a 7-day trial key by e-mail on this page.
  3. Extract the ZIP into a separate folder.
  4. Start VoxBridgeStudio.exe.
  5. Follow the first-run setup assistant.
  6. Test with a 30–60 second file first.

Setup is partially manual. VoxBridge Studio guides the first run, but FFmpeg, Ollama, the translation model download, cloud provider keys, and license activation may still require setup steps. If something is missing, follow the assistant, complete the step, then return to VoxBridge Studio and check again.

  • VoxBridge Studio: the main Windows app.
  • FFmpeg: helps the app read and process video/audio files.
  • Ollama: runs the local AI model on your computer.
  • TranslateGemma: the translation model used through Ollama.
  • Cloud BYOK: optional cloud recognition or translation with your own Groq or Gemini API key.

If your PC has around 16 GB RAM or 4 GB dedicated VRAM, start with the smaller translategemma:4b model for the first test. The translategemma:12b and translategemma:27b models are still available, but they are heavier and may be slow or fail on weaker machines.

The trial key is requested by e-mail through this website. It is not generated inside the app. During alpha testing, keys are sent manually, so the reply may not arrive instantly. After you receive the key, open VoxBridge Studio and activate it inside the app.

Cloud BYOK keys are session-only by default. If you explicitly choose to remember them on this PC, VoxBridge Studio uses Windows Credential Manager instead of plain settings files.

This is not a cloud upload service

VoxBridge Studio is not a browser-based upload service. Processing runs on your own Windows machine in Local mode, so the first setup may require FFmpeg, Ollama, a translation model and license activation. Cloud BYOK is an explicit choice that uses provider keys you supply. It is more setup than a hosted browser tool, but the processing path stays visible and under your control.

It is worth trying if:

  • you use a Windows PC;
  • you want to understand your own video or audio files;
  • you need subtitles to follow content without audio, in noisy environments, or because you cannot rely on audio;
  • you care about keeping files off cloud processing services;
  • you accept that local AI processing may require stronger hardware.
Hardware requirements

Local translation needs RAM or VRAM

The model download size is not the same as the memory needed while it runs. On weaker machines, translation may be slow, or larger models may not run reliably. If you are unsure, start with a short test and a smaller model.

  • Below 16 GB RAM, the 12b model is not recommended as the first choice.
  • 24 GB RAM or 12 GB+ VRAM is recommended for the 12b base model.
  • Below 32 GB RAM, the 27b model is not recommended.
  • 32-64 GB RAM or 24 GB+ VRAM is recommended for 27b quality mode.
Model choice

Do not look only at the GB size

ModelFirst recommendation
4b - 3.3 GBquick test or weaker-machine fallback; quality is not guaranteed
12b - 8.1 GBrecommended base model with 24 GB RAM or 12 GB+ VRAM
27b - 17 GBquality mode on strong hardware, with 32-64 GB RAM or 24 GB+ VRAM

Translating an existing SRT subtitle is a smaller first test than the full speech-recognition workflow.

Quick start in 3 steps
1. Download 2. Extract and start 3. Guided setup inside the app
  1. Download the portable ZIP package.
  2. Extract it into a separate folder, then start VoxBridgeStudio.exe.
  3. Follow first-run setup in Local or Cloud BYOK mode: FFmpeg and license are always required; Ollama + local model are Local-mode requirements.

Recommended flow: download → request a trial license by e-mail → setup → short test video → if it works, move to the personal license.

Trial license request

Request a 7-day trial license

Enter your e-mail address and the trial license key will be sent there. No other information is requested here. The key is sent after manual processing and activated inside VoxBridge Studio. The trial requires no credit card: 120 subtitle minutes, up to 15 videos, with a maximum of 60 minutes per video.

Keys are sent manually. If it is urgent or you do not receive a reply, write directly to support@voxbridgestudio.org.

Manual check

If you want to verify the environment quickly

The first-run setup inside the app walks through the required steps. Run these commands only if you want to check the environment manually.

ffmpeg -version
ollama --version
ollama list

What do they mean?

  • ffmpeg -version: checks whether FFmpeg is visible to the system
  • ollama --version: checks whether Ollama is installed
  • ollama list: checks whether Ollama responds and whether a model exists
  • translategemma:4b: 3.3 GB quick test/fallback model for weaker machines
  • translategemma:12b: 8.1 GB recommended base model with 24 GB RAM or 12 GB+ VRAM
  • translategemma:27b: 17 GB quality mode for strong machines, not recommended below 32 GB RAM

The full detailed path is in the setup guide, including separate PowerShell and cmd examples.

  • First test: start with a short, non-private video
Usage path

What should you do after download?

Extract the ZIP into a separate folder, request the trial key by e-mail, start VoxBridge Studio, then run the first-run checks. This is not a signed installer; it is an unsigned alpha portable ZIP. The trial key is delivered by e-mail and activated inside the app. The trial is there to confirm that subtitle creation and translation work on your own machine.

First success in 15 minutes

Start with a short, safe test

Do not start with a long, important course video. The first goal is simply to confirm that the subtitle and translation workflow works on your machine.

  1. Extract the portable ZIP into a separate folder.
  2. Start the VoxBridge Studio app.
  3. Check setup status in the app: FFmpeg and license first, then Local-mode Ollama/model or Cloud BYOK provider/key readiness.
  4. Choose a 1-3 minute non-private test video or an existing sidecar subtitle.
  5. Create a language-coded SRT subtitle, for example VideoName.hu.srt.

Try dubbing only after this. A stable subtitle workflow is the foundation.

If you are creating subtitles for viewers who cannot rely on audio, start with a short test video with clear speech.

VoxBridge Studio setup assistant for first success
First-run checks The setup assistant walks through Local or Cloud BYOK readiness, including FFmpeg, license, provider access/key checks, plus Ollama/model checks for Local mode.

  • license and manual trial-key activation screen
  • subtitle, translation and export workflow
  • result panels for success, partial and failed runs
  • support bundle for troubleshooting diagnostics
  • SHA-256 checksums for verification

Always start the program from the extracted folder, not from inside the ZIP file.
